Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate created the Carrie Chapman Catt Award to recognize high schools throughout the state for their commitment to registering students to vote. Iowan Carrie Chapman Catt was a national leader in the women’s suffrage movement and helped secure the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution.
Schools registering at least 90% of eligible seniors to vote will receive this distinguished award. Schools registering at least 50% or more of eligible seniors will receive statewide recognition and commendation. To track towards the Award, students must complete an Inspire2Vote Pledge to Vote Card.
The competition for the 2022-2023 Carrie Chapman Catt Award will end on Friday, March 31, 2023.
